Die Industrie 4.0 bestimmt dabei die gesamte Lebensphase eines Produktes. Nämlich von der Idee über die Entwicklung, Fertigung, Nutzung und Wartung bis hin zum Recycling. So können letztendlich Produkte nach individuellen Kundenwünschen hergestellt werden. Und so werden Einzelstücke zum Preis von Massenware in höchster Qualität produziert.
Im Fokus steht hierbei die Steigerung der Produktivität, die Aufrechterhaltung der Lieferketten, die bedarfsgerechte Beschaffung und Verfügbarkeit. Und der Mensch selbst. Die Vorteile kann man sich ausdenken: Die Entwicklung von massgeschneiderten Ersatzteilkonzepten, die Senkung der Kapitalbindungskosten und die Steigerung der Effizienz (unter Beibehaltung höchster Qualität).
Anhand des Beispiels einer grossen chinesischen Computer-Fertigung hat uns Adrian Widmer erklärt, warum heute intelligente, digital vernetzte Systeme und Produktionsprozesse absolut notwendig sind. Oder anders gefragt: Wie koordiniere und plane ich die über 10'000 Mitarbeitenden meiner Fabrik innerhalb dreier vorgegebener Arbeitsschichten? Wir merken schnell, ohne die intelligente Vernetzung von Menschen, Maschinen und industriellen Prozessen steht vieles still – oder anders gesagt – bewegt sich für den heutigen Anspruch zu langsam und ist weit weg von «hoch performant».
